Permit Renewal Reminder
With the end of the year speedily approaching, it is very important to monitor and to make sure all import permits and licenses are renewed and up to date. This will help to avoid unnecessary delays in the clearance of your goods.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Import and Export Licenses are valid for one year from the date of issuance. Please be advised that they are no longer sending courtesy notice therefore, we request that you check the expiration date on your permit and renew accordingly.
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) permits also has an expiration dates that must be renewed. Please check your permits and renew accordingly.
The National Marine Fisheries IFTP (International Fisheries Trade) permits are valid for one year. It covers HMS (Highly Migratory Species), TTVP (Tuna Tracking Verification Program), AMLR (Antarctic Marine Living Resources) and the SIMP (Seafood Import Monitoring Program). Please check the expiration date on your permit and renew accordingly.
New Anti-Dumping Duty Non-reimbursement forms for 2018 must be submitted to Flegenheimer before 1/1/2018.
Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) [21 U.S.C. § 350d] requires food facilities that are required to register with FDA to renew such registrations during the period beginning on October 1 and ending on December 31 of each even-numbered year. Please make sure your manufacturer/packer renew their facility registration# accordingly.
Although DUNS numbers for FSVP do not expire, Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) conducts data maintenance and outreach to verify operations at a location. If the operations cannot be verified for a specific DUNS number D&B may flag to DUNS number as “inactive” and this can interfere with successful reporting.

Flower Pest Inspections
USDA flower inspections for pests can be quite the ‘pest’!
USDA has provided the following Agriculture Specialists Flower Inspection video to educate importers of their inspection procedures. USDA hopes to help importers to take the extra step to avoid pest I.D.’s and USDA holds at the time of cargo inspection.

REMINDER of USDA and Fish & Wildlife Inspection Times for Air Freight
To help avoid USDA and Fish & Wildlife overtime inspection costs, please be aware of the regular inspection cut off times and overtime inspection starting times. Please make sure that you are mindful of your flight ETA’s. If your cargo arrives after the cut off time you can either request overtime inspection or next day regular time inspection.
** Please make sure to notify Flegenheimer Air Department as soon as possible to avoid any delay or undesired overtime fees. **
• USDA cut off time to schedule an overtime inspection is 2:00pm.
• If freight arrives near the 2:00 pm cut off time and USDA has already inspected other cargo at that airline, overtime will be applied (if requested), or regular time inspection will be scheduled by USDA for the following day. Please follow up on the next day after 9AM.
• Inspections should be scheduled based on 4 hours after flight arrival time (if requested).
• 48-hour notification must be submitted to Fish & Wildlife to schedule regular time inspection, notification is based on the ETA of the flight.
• If overtime inspection is required, importer must notify Flegenheimer, so cargo can be scheduled in a timely manner before cut off times. (USDA & F&WL)
• If overtime is NOT required, importer must notify Flegenheimer so regular inspection can be scheduled the following day (USDA)
• USDA overtime begins at 4:30pm and the last inspection time is 9:00pm
• Fish & Wildlife overtime is from 3:30pm to 9:30pm
