U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) Implementation Roundtable in Long Beach, Seattle, Newark or Miami – July 2017


National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries is hosting roundtables across the U.S. this July to provide awareness and support for compliance with the traceability data reporting and record keeping requirements in advance of the January 1, 2018 mandatory compliance date under U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP).

  • Abalone *
  • Atlantic Cod
  • Blue Crab (Atlantic)
  • Dolphinfish (Mahi Mahi)
  • Grouper
  • King Crab (red)
  • Pacific Cod
  • Red Snapper
  • Sea Cucumber
  • Sharks
  • Shrimp *
  • Swordfish
  • Tunas: Albacore, Bigeye, Skipjack, Yellowfin, and Bluefin

Relevant topics to be covered by the SIMP to help foreign exporters and U.S. domestic importers of seafood species comply with the requirements:

  • In-Depth Review of the Seafood Import Monitoring Program
  • Implementation Timeline
  • Pilot Testing in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) for   Importers
  • Traceability Data Requirements for Reporting
  • Supply Chain of Custody Data Requirements for Recordkeeping

The meetings wll be held in Long Beach, CA; Seattle, WA; Newark, NJ; and Miami, FL.
