Newsflash: President Trump Signed Executive Orders on Tariffs from Canada, China, and Mexico.

To Our Valued Customers,

We understand that many of you have questions regarding President Trump’s imposition of tariffs from Canada, Mexico, and China.

This weekend, CBP issued an update regarding the three executive orders that were signed by the President imposing additional 25% ad valorem rate of duty from Canada, Mexico, and 10% on imports from China.

These tariffs become effective on goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on February 4, 2025.

Specific information will be provided in the forthcoming Federal Register Notice (FRN). This will include the relevant updates to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS).

The trade community will be made aware by the CBP’s Cargo System Messaging Service (CSMS) for news and additional updates regarding the implementation of these tariffs.

De Minimis duty treatment will not be applicable for commodities that are subject to the additional tariffs effective midnight of Feruary 4, 2025.

Flegenheimer will continue to monitor and provide updates to our customers as soon as we receive additional messages from CBP’s CSMS.

Please continue to read our e-blasts for further updates.

Thank you for your patience.
